Bio/intro

Eli Helland


               

Eli Helland has studied singing with Norunn Illevold Giske, Tor Nilsen and Ulla Hedblad (S).
She  lived 15 years in Sweden where she worked as a singer, musician, composer,
choir conductor and puppet actor.
She produced the 1994 puppet show "Little Birdl" in co-operation with Gavleborg Symphony
Orchestra, and  in 1995 wrote the music for the choral work "White waiting Night of June" with
text by Helene Rådberg and support from Gävle Municipality.

She has produced and released the CD "Simple as that"with her own songs (2001), and she has
composed the prayers for the Holy Birgitta and performs concerts with them in Sweden and
Norway.
In 2008, she produced and participated in the oratorio Sancta Birgitta, which had it’s first
performance in the Nidarsdomen cathedral forSt.Olavs feast days.



Since she came in contact with Torsten Föllinge
in the 80s,she has developed the concept of  
"Singing from being" and offers courses in
Norway and Sweden..

In 2005 she established in Oslo the company
‘Eli Helland Singing Performance’ and has
also held a series of church concerts with the
Holy Birgitta prayers and given Bossa Nova
concerts in venues such as the Oslo Concert
Hall and the Norwegian Opera.
She is also regularly to be found at various
clubs,churches and venues in the Oslo
area (some bookings under contract to
Oslo Kommune)  with songs of her own
composition  (both lyrics and tunes).
